Since being elected in 2008, Assemblywoman Corwin has stood firm to her message of fiscal conservatism, accountability for lawmakers, and focusing on growing our upstate economy by supporting small businesses.
Recently, she was appointed Ranking member of the Corporations, Authorities, and Commissions Committee, and has taken an active role in opening up a real debate on the legislation before the Committee.
Assemblywoman Corwin is also the Chairwoman of the Assembly Minority Manufacturing Task Force, which involves traveling across New York State to gain input from small business leaders in various communities on how state law and policy effects their business and local economy.
Building on her private sector experience, Jane Corwin has taken a business-like approach to solving the problems of state government. Despite the many obstacles that have prevented the real change taxpayers want, Assemblywoman Corwin has taken a larger role in promoting her pro-business agenda, in collaboration with the Assembly Minority Conference, to once and for all change the status-quo in
Assemblywoman Corwin recognizes her constituent’s needs are not complicated or out of reach. She understands they want less government intrusion in their lives, cuts in state spending, lower taxes, and a sense of reliability and trust in their elected representatives. As she has voted against billions of dollars in new taxes and fees, supported the rights of law abiding gun owners, supported sweeping ethics reform, and fought to cut wasteful spending in government, Assemblywoman Corwin is eager to continue being the voice of the taxpayers of the 142nd District.

She is the President and Founder of the Philip M. and Jane Lewis Corwin Foundation, which provides direct funding for educational, medical and religious charities to benefit children. She has also served as the President of the Josephine Goodyear Committee at the Women and Children’s Hospital of Buffalo; Confirmation Leader at Zion Lutheran Church; and as a member of the Grant Review Committee for Community Foundation for Greater Buffalo.
